25/08/2019

For his 5th time at Music Fest Perugia since 2013, Gaddiel has become now a vital part of the conducting faculty at the festival. In total, during this month long festival, Gaddiel has collaborated with more than 80 (!) young pianists and violinists, and performed with them their Concerto movement. The Concerti of this year were piano and violin concerti by : Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven, in the classical era, as well as Mendelssohn, Chopin, Grieg, Saint-Saens and Rachmaninoff from the romantic era. Gaddiel conducted as well the Opera Gala of the second session with the singers of the vocal program at MFP. The concert featured a first half of all the arias from “La Boheme” by Puccini, and a second half with a potpourri of arias by Rossini, Handel, Mozart, Verdi and Puccini.

At one of the first evenings during the festival, on July 26th, Gaddiel was asked to jump in at a very short notice to conduct the last hour of the concert with the “Cherubini” Orchestra of the Florence Conservatory. With no rehearsals or time to prepare, Gaddiel performed with the young soloists various concerti as Grieg Piano Concerto, Saint-Saens and Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2.
