On May 10, Gaddiel conducted a Tosca to remember at the Constanta State Opera Hall. With singers Nicoleta Ardelean as Tosca, Razvan Sararu as Cavaradossi and Daniel Pop as Scarpia, he led the opera company through one of the toughest operas in the repertoire. The preformance of Puccini’s famous opera was received with great enthousiasm by the Constanta audience coming that evening.
It is already his third appearance in Constanta, after conducting Verdi’s “Un Ballo in Maschera” and “Il Trovatore” in last season. Gaddiel was asked to come back and this time a Puccini opera was decided after his 100 year anniversary was celebrated earier this season, in November 2024.
The videos of the performance are available on YouTube and give the viewer the possibility of watching both the stage as the action in the pit at the same time.
Gaddiel will be coming back to Constanta very soon, in order to teach 10 conductors from around the wolrd at the Constanta Conducting Masterclass held for the second time, after last year’s great success. As well, talks have already started for the plans of season 2025/26 including one opera performance, a conducting masterclass as well as a new Opera Summer Festival for singers, conductors, pianists and directors.
