On October 26th, 2024, we had the joy of welcoming a new member to our little family gang. Meitar was born without too much difficulties, with extremely curious blue eyes and a clear resemblance to her mother Ella. In our profession of musicians (and especially conductors or soloists) there seems to be a somewhat obligation of choosing either family or career. And obviously it can be quite challenging to fly all over the world while having a newborn baby at home. But the choice for me was easy.
For me, a musical career has never been something I took for granted. Until I started my studies at the Jerusalem Academy, I have never thought I would take up that road. Being where I am today, after winning multiple competitions and touring the world has been a delightful surprise and a wonderful adventure so far. Becoming a parent for me is the real challenge any human is born to become at one point. Raising a child, leaving something to this world after I will be gone, is something I have been looking for my whole life.

I have decided that for this season of 24/25, I will take a short step back from flying and guest conducting outside of Israel for a few months. In the meantime, I am happy to conduct a few projects with local orchestras in Tel Aviv, Herzeliya and Hod Hasharon, and working with them on pillars of the symphonic repertoire such as Tchaikovsky 6th symphony in January-February, Mahler 1st symphony in May-June and many more. In May, I will be back to flying abroad to perform Puccini’s Tosca in Constanta and then teach my regular Masterclass there in June. I’m happy to debut as well with the Beer-Sheva Orchestra on June 10th with a fun family program.
There are many projects to look up to for the coming seasons and I will share many more details as they become real and confirmed. In the meantime, we hope to raise Meitar to be a wonderful human being, and hopefully an inspiring young musician as well.
