A thrilling open air Traviata in Bulgaria

On September 9th, all opera lovers in the city of Stara Zagora, gathered to watch a one time performance of Verdi’s “La Traviata” at the ancient Roman Forum. The concert was conducted by Gaddiel Dombrowner, 3rd prize winner of the Blue Danube Opera Competition in 2021. This concert was part of the prize concerts given to Gaddiel for winning that prize.

The cast for this Traviata brought together a very high level international cast that included:
Besa Llugiqi – Violetta
Emanuele D’Auguanno – Alfredo
Gezim Myshketa – Germont
As well as various soloists, choir and orchestra of the Stara Zagora State Opera with a grandiose and full staging managed by Ognian Draganoff, musical director of the State Opera in Stara Zagora.

The performance was performed in an open air set, at the Ancient Forum of Stara Zagora, which is lovated under the Opera building and was discovered around just 20 years ago.
The fully booked audience that came gave a standing ovation to the performance for more than 10 minutes and Gaddiel was delighted to receive much praise to this production from all parts.

Gaddiel’s next opera performance will be of Verdi’s “Un ballo in maschera” on December 8th, 2023 with the Constanta Opera with full staging as well.
